Yaroslav Tkalenko

Yaroslav TkalenkoBorn in 1972.

In 1998 he graduated from Russian Gnesin`s Academy of Music the post-graduate course, major in “orchestra conducting” (class of B.I.Demchenko).

Since 1997 he has collaborated with Moscow Musical Theatre “Amadei” where he is a musical director of the following plays: V.A. Mozart “Die Zauberflote”, A. Sacchini “Oedipe a Colone”, P. Tchaikovsky “Eugeny Onegin”; The plays he conducted: V. Mozart “Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail”, “Der Schauspieldirektor”, “Bastien und Bastienne”, V.I. Rebikov “Elka”, “Ball at duke Orlov” (by tunes of Vein’s classical operettas).

From 1999 to 2001 he was the principal conductor and founder of orchestra of Moscow children’s musical-dramatic theatre under G. Chihacheva. He directed the following plays and musicals: V. Semenov - “Man-Amphibian”, “Pirate and ghosts”, “Only love” (by tunes of classical operettas and etc.). He gave performances on tours in Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk, Essentuki.

Since 2000 he is musical director and conductor of chamber orchestra of old music “Royal Court”. The orchestra repertoire included: Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, I. Strauss, and chamber works of modern composers.

From 2002 to 2003 he trained at Moscow Academic Nemirovich and Danchenko Theatre (under People’s Artist of Russia, V.M. Gorelik) and in Moscow State Academic Philharmonic at State Symphonic Orchestra under V. Ponkin.

Since 2003 he has worked with various musical theatres: theatre of opera and ballet in Voroneg (P. Tchaikovsky “The Queen of Spades”), Moscow theatre “Gelicon-Opera” (P. Tchaikovsky “Mazepa”, “Evgenii Onegin”). He regularly conducts concert programs with State Symphonic Orchestra under direction of V. Ponkin. He attended master-classes of I.A. Musin (1996), M.L. Rostropovich, Zubin Mehta (2003) and in 2005 was an assistant of Maestro Rostropovich in an opera production of Bolshoi Theatre “War and Peace” by S. Prokofiev.

Since 2004 he collaborates with Moscow International Music Hall where he produced 3 children musical performances based on the music of S. Prokofiev, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, P. Tchaikovsky.

At present he is conductor in Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre. He participated in opera productions “Ruslan and Ludmila” by M. Glinka, “The Tsar’s Bride” by N. Rimsky-Korsakov, “Faust” by Ch. Gounod, “Rigoletto” by D. Verdi, “The Queen of Spades”and “Iolanta” by P. Tchaikovsky. He is principal conductor in opera production “Carmen” by G. Bizet premiere of which took place in March, 2007. With the Opera Centre he performed on tours in Macedonia, Saint - Petersburg (he conducted Mariinsky theatre orchestra), Georgia and Azerbaijan.
